Our epics say that the statues of lord Jagannath , his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra are incomplete statues. The temple of Puri was consecrated by The then king of Orissa and these said statues were said to be carved by Vishwakarma , the chief architect of the Devas. He had left them incomplete because the Queen had distracted him while chiselling the sculptures.
