how hydronium ions are formed?


sahil3001: let it be reaction between a base(proton acceptor)- H2O , a acid(proton donor) -HCL Water accepts a proton from HCL which is +H forming H3O+(the hydronium ion)

It can be formed when an acid is present in water or simply in the pure water .its chemical formula is H3O+ .It can be formed by the combination of a H+ ions with an H2O molecule .The hydronium ions has a trigonal pyramidal geometry and is composed of three hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom .......
