Answer:

1.i) according to question :-

8x+5 = 6x-5

8x-6x = -5-5

2x = -10

x = -10/2 = -5

1.ii) 1*y/4 +1/2 = 5

y/4 + 1/2 = 5

taking LCM of 4 :-

y+2/4 = 5

y+2 = 5*4

y = 20-2 = 18

2.i) 3x+2(x+2) = 20-(2x-5)

3x+2x+4 = 20-2x+5

5x+4 = 25-2x

5x+2x = 25-4

3x = 21

x = 21/3 = 7

2.ii) z-1/3 = 1+z-2/4

z-1/3 = 4+z-2/4 (taken LCM of 4)

z-1/3 = 2+z/4

cross multiplying :-

4(z-1) = 3(2+z)

4z-4 = 6+3z

4z-3z = 6+4

z = 10

Answer:

1 -

i - 8x + 5 = 6x -5

8x - 6x = -5 -5

2x = -10

X = -10/2

X = -5

ii -.

 \frac{1}{4} y +  \frac{1}{2}  = 5

 \frac{y}{4}  +   \frac{1}{2}  = 5

 \frac{y + 2}{4}  = 5

y + 2 = 20

y = 18

2 -

i -

3x + 2(x + 2) = 20 - (2x - 5)

3x + 2x + 4 = 20 -2x +5

5x +4 = 25 -2x

5x + 2x = 25 - 4

7x = 21

X = 3

Check of answer -

3×3+2(3+2)=20-(2×3-5)

9+6+4=20-6+5

19 = 19

ii -

 \frac{z - 1}{3}  = 1 +  \frac{z - 2}{4}

 \frac{z - 1}{3}  =  \frac{4 + z - 2}{4}

4z - 4 = 12 + 3z - 6

4z-3z = 10

7z = 10

z = 10/7

Check of answer -

 \frac{10 - 1}{7 \times 3}  =  \frac{4  + 10 - 2}{7 \times 4}

 \frac{9}{21}  =  \frac{12}{28}

28 \times 9 = 12 \times 21

252 = 252

hope it will help you ❣️
