the sun can burn hydrogen to helium without the need.....an absence of oxygen does not present nuclear burning .
it cannot stop .

answer is

actually sun don't burns due to burning of oxygen and combustion reaction doesn't take place. but sun burns due to the nuclear fusion and fission reaction going on in it which doesn't need the presence of oxygen. hence this reaction doesn't stop by any method there.
