THE NARRATORS GRANDMOTHER HERSELF WANTED TO GO TO KASHI . IT WAS HER ARDENT DESIRE TO VISIT THE HOLY PLACE AND IDENTIFIED HERSELF TO THE CHARACTER IN THE NOVEL. THIS MADE HER TO IDENTIFY TO THE NOVELS PROTAGONIST
