How I taught my grandmither to read is an interesting story written by Mrs.Sudha Murthy. As the name
of the story suggests she writes about how she taught her grandmother to read. in the story Sudha Murthy used to live with grandparents. while her grandma was illiterate. there was a magazine sent to the village in a bus which Sudha Murthy used to read out to her grandma. grandma was very much eager to listen Sudha Murthy read out the story weekly. one day Sudha Murthy had to go to a village to attend a wedding and she postponed her departure. so Meanwhile the magazine had arrived.
grandma was eager to know what happened next in the story so she decided to read it on your own without any dependents on anyone. but she was illiterate so she waited for Sudha to come and read out to her. when Sudha came she read it out to her the story and grandmother also asked her to teach the Kannada alphabet to her. so Sudha agreed to teacher grandma Kannada reading and writing and after a few months grandma became perfect in Kannada. she was a fast learner. so after finishing her course one day grandma went to Sudha got her feet and said thank you and ask her granddaughter that what did she want for Guru Dakshina. Sudha just had her and was surprised for the respect given to her by her grandma from that day onwards she learnt how to behave with her teachers and elders.
