How id hydrogen gas produced during electrolysis snd not during electroplating?

Hydrogen produce during electrolysis by acidifying water and passing electricity into it it will collects at cathode it will not produce in electroplating because in it only those elements will deposit on the given article which electrolyte present in it as hydrogen is a gas it will not able deposit on it.
