continuous inbreeding leads to inbreeding depression which means the heterozygous characters are slowly taken over by the homozygous ones

Because in inbreeding there is meeting of gamete over 4-6generatin and hence same type of gamete which have same allele of a gene meet and hence promote homozygosity
