The 15th august is the most important day in the history of India. On this fortunate day our country became free after many centuries. The British left India with bag and baggage
Preparation for the day:
We celebrate this day with great zeal every year. This year great preparations were made in the school. Every one of us was eager to take part in the Independent Day Celebration. The vice principal drew up a programme which was announced by the principal on the 13th august.
Programme of the Day:
Early in the morning of the 15thAugust we gathered in the Ramleela ground behind the bus stand near the water tank. Our teacher also joined us in a few minutes. We were divided into four parties each under the charge of six teachers. We went round the town singing the national songs and shouting Mahatma Gandhi Ki Jai, Bhrat Mata Ki jai. Our younger companions were full of great enthusiasm. They were shouting the slogans at the top of their voice. Their singing and expressing our patriotic feelings. We reached our school at 7:30 AM.
In the school we stood round the flag pole. We were asked to stand class wise. In our Khaki uniform we looked like soldiers ready to sacrifice our lives for the sake of our country. The teachers stood behind us. On our Principal’s request, the founder of the school, who is a sacred saint, came forward to perform the flag-hoisting ceremony. He was in his happy mood. Exactly at eight the flag was hoisted. We stood in attention to give salute to the flag.
After the flag ceremony Jan Gan Man was sung. The scouts’ band played the tune. The flag ceremony came to a close with a few speeches delivered by the staff and the manager. Al the speakers threw light on the importance of the day and our duties towards the country. In the end, the principal asked us to assemble round the field to take part in the school sports. They were held with great enthusiasm. Those who stood first and second in the various sports got prizes from the holy hands of the manager.
In the evening all the students and the teachers assembled in the school hall. We were very glad when the principal announced that each of us would get a packet of sweets. There was a great noise in the hall for about an hour. My class leader asked ten boys and me to stay in the school for illumination. After enjoying the grand illumination in the school we returned home in happy mood.
Conclusion:
Thus we celebrated our Independence Day in our school. This day always remind me of the untold sacrifices of the fighters of freedom. We should worship those patriots who shed their blood for achieving Freedom.

❇ INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION IN MY COLLEGE:-
We celebrated Independence Day with unprecedented patriotic fervour on Aug 14, 2017. The gamut of celebration activities held on the campus consisted of special morning assembly, poetry recitation, declamation contest, and impressive parade. The entire school assembled at the ground. The principal hoisted the Tricolor. The national anthem echoed in the entire campus.
After the anthem there was class-wise march past. Students marched in contingents to the beat of drum while the principal presided over it. After the march past, one act play highlighting the hanging of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev brought tears to everyone’s eyes. The group song ‘Ai Mere Vatan Ke Logo’ filled everyone with pure patriotism.
At the end, the Chairman gave a speech reminding the students and the teachers of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and made us take pledge that we would serve our motherland, India with heart, body, and soul to bring it glory and laurels with our dignified deeds. At the end the students were distributed sweets.
