\huge\mathrm{Question :-}

" How intelligent you are " Manjiri said to her grandfather.

\huge\mathrm{Answer :-}

➡ Manjiri praised her grandfather that he was very intelligent

\huge\mathrm{Structures :-}

Simple tense :-

  • Passive voice Object + helping verb (is , are ) + 3rd form of main verb + subject

  • Example ➡ Anu plays a ball ( Active ) A ball is played by Anu ( Passive )
  • Here played is in the present tense so during the passive voice is is written
  • If the sentence was like this " Anu played a ball " ( Active ) A ball was played by Anu ( Passive )
  • Here in place of is was is used since the verb play is in the past tense so the helping verb should be used according to the tense of the main verb

Continous tense :-

  • Passive voice Object + helping verb ( is are , was , were ) + being + 3rd form of the main verb + subject
  • Example ➡ Anu is giving a test ( Active) A test is being given by Anu
  • 2nd Example ➡ Anu was giving a test ( Active ) A test was being given by Anu
  • Here, what helping verb will be given in the active form whether is or are we should write that same helping verb .

  • If the subject is plural and the verb is in the present form ( Example ➡ The players are playing cricket match ) then we should write " are " in place of " is " as the helping verb and if the main verb is in the form of past tense then we should write " were " .

  • Being is must during continuous change

★ Perfect tense :-

  • Passive voice Object + have / has + 3rd form of the main verb + subject
  • Example ➡He has given the test (Active) The test has been given by him.
  • If the main verb is in present tense then have / has depends on the subject if the subject is of 1st person ( I, We ) then have will be used , if the subject is of second person ( You ) have will be used and if it is of third person ( He, she,it, etc) has will be used then. If the subject is they we should use have .

  • If the main verb is in past tense had is used in place of have or has, whatever may be the subject .

  • Been is must to be written in case of perfect tense.
