How is 0.5 mole of NAOH different from 0.5M NAOH?

the 'mole' is the number of moles of that substance, which is a measure of amount of substance, while the 'M' stands for Molarity of the compound, which is a measure of concentration of the compound in a solution.(Molarity=[ \frac{No. of Moles}{Volume(l)} ])
