As u know any the experiments conducted by Newton. White light is made up of several other colors and this can be seen when sunlight is passed thru a prism.

So when it rains, the sunlight passes thru the raindrops and splits into different colours and forms a rainbow. These water droplets are present in air after rain

rainbow is methorogical phenomena, that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispertion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. rainbows everytime appear opposite to sun
