denatured spirit - C₂H₅OH + CH₂OH as fuel

                             (ethanol + methanol)

  • The reason why absolute alcohol is changed into denatured spirit is to avoid the consumption of alcohol.
  • Adding methanol to it makes it poisonous, bad-tasting, foul-smelling and also it can be used as fuel.
