Acid rain is caused by the poisonous gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, sulphur dioxide. It combines with the water droplets and form acid rain

When excess among of sulphur dioxide or sulphur trioxide is released,it gets trapped in atmoshphere and it changes the pH of water/moisture in atmosphere to acidic and at last when rain falls it is called acid rain
