How is air different from water?

Answer:

Air is a gas while water is a liquid. Air is compressible while water is for all purposes non compressible. Water is H2O with some dissolved solids and gases while air is a mixture of all gases with some water in the form of vapor. Water transmits sounds 25 times better than air.
