Answer:

Alchemy is a mythical chemistry which involves transformation of any metal or non-metal into gold.

In early years people used to believe that any metal and non-metal can be transformed into gold usining alchemy. Many kings, rich merchants and aristocratic people used to keep professional alchemists so as to profit money, but that actually never happened. Whereas chemistry is based on real life use of chemicals which had a proper chemical formula, a proper chemical equation which is based on natural chemical elements. But alchemy was done by pure chemistry which involved the use of chemicals and medicines. Which helped in the development of modern chemistry. This is how alchemy differs from chemistry.
