How is AMMONIUM CYANATE (NH4CNO) an Inorganic Compound ?

Compounds which are isolated directly or indirectly from living organisms, such as animals and plants are called Organic compounds.

Compounds which are isolated from non living sources , such as rocks and minerals are called Inorganic compounds.

Ammonium cyanate is an inorganic compound because it's obtained by double decomposition of ammonium chloride and potassium cyanate.
