baking soda can be produced by reaction of carbon dioxide with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide or by treating sodium carbonate solution with carbon dioxide . it can also be prepared by the solvay process which is the reaction of sodium chloride, ammonia and carbon dioxide in water .

Answer:NaCl + H2O +CO2 + NH3=

NH4Cl+ NaHCO3.

It is used as an antacid as it is used in removing acidity.

It is also used when baking powder, a mixture of mild edible acid and baking soda is formed. The co2 released is used in making bread or cake soft and spongy.
