Hi Depanshi!

a.
Black Soil is deficient in Humus, Phosphorus. But it shares 15%(estimate) of all soil types in India.
It also consists of Iron, Magnesium, & Aluminum.

There are various theories in the formation of Black Soil- like the decomposition of plants and animals eg Reeds Marsh, Loess, Peat, Silt, Grasses, man-made decompose, bogs, all of this weathered under pressure.

This has been a slow but long process. It has taken of years for the soil to be this
One needs to understand that the Black soil was not always like this. Even it's color was different. Various soils have similar characteristics as Black Soil. It is the fundamental difference in composition at atomic level that cause the difference. Of course, the process and elements get differed as well from the formation of other soils.

b.
It is largely found in the plateau regions because of the need of high and low rainfall. Black soil is under the soil group of the dry and hot regions of the Peninsula.
The Plateau region provides these type of conditions for the Soil to prosper.

Hope it make sense and helps!

Depanshi: Thank you so much! ^^
