The blood circulatory system (cardiovascular system) delivers nutrients and oxygen to all cells in the body. It consists of the heart and the blood vessels running through the entire body. The arteries carry blood away from the heart; the veins carry it back to the heart

The Heart :-

The heart is a muscular organ having different chambers to prevent the oxygen rich blood form mixing with the blood containing Carbondioxide. Auricles receive the blood through veins while the ventricles pump the blood through arteries. Aorta is the main artery while vena cava is the main vein. Right auricle receives the impure (deoxygenated) blood and pumps into rright ventricle which further pumps to lungs for oxygenation.

The oxygenated blood from lungs is brought by pulmonary veins into left auricle which pumps into left ventricle and which further pumps into the entire body through main artery ( Aorta).

  • The pulmonary vein is the only vein which brings oxygenated blood from lungs into the left auricle.

  • The pulmonary artery is the only artery which carries deoxygenated blood into the lungs for oxygenation.

  • The separation of oxygenated blood from deoxygenated blood allows a highly efficient supply of oxygen to the body .

Hope it helps you .
