how is boric acid prepared in laboratory ?

It is prepared by colemanite by suspending it in boiling water and thn So₂ ( sulphur dioxide) is passed though it and then boric acid crystallizes & comes out from the solution..

On commercial scale, boric acid is prepared from a natural calcium borate called colemanite (Ca2B6O11.5H2O) by suspending it in boiling water while, sulphur dioxide is passed through it.
