Bramputra river is different from other north indian rivers in the following ways:
1. The Brahmaputra rises in Tibet; east of Mansarowar lake. It is a little longer than the Indus.
2. Most of the course of the Brahmaputra lies outside India
3. It flows eastwards parallel to the Himalayas.
4. Unlike other north Indian rivers the Brahmaputra gets huge deposits of silt on its bed. This results in rising of the river bed.
5. It also shifts its channel frequently.
