HOW IS CHARCOAL PREPARED??? EXPLAIN WHY, CHARCOAL IS A BETTER FUEL THAN WOOD.​

When wood is burnt in a limited supply of oxygen,water and volatile material present in it get removed and charcoal is left behind as residue.In this way charcoal is formed

Charcoal is better fuel than wood because it burns without flames and is comparatively smokeless and has a higher heat generation efficiency.

charcoal is formed when wood is burned in incomplete compusion(incomplete oxygen) and the all volatile matter of the wood is removed then charcoal is formed

charcoal has following advantage:-

1)-it has high calorific value (33J) THEN wood(17J) .calorific value is heat per unit mass.

2)it do not produce NO2 AND SO2 on burning which help in removing acid rain

3)-it does not give CO2 on burning.. as no trapping if energy and hence no green house takes place

4)- hence it is pollution free
