chemical energy is energy that can be stored and broken down by reactions with other elements and chemicals.
photosynthesis is the process in which the plants break down CO2 and water and convert them into oxygen and sugar.
Photosynthesis requires that plant absorbs sunlight, water and CO2 .
6Co2 +6H20   + Light energy ------->  C6H1206 +6O2
                                           chlorophyll
the food prepared by green leaves of a plant is in the form of glucose.
This Glucose food made in the leaves is then sent to different pats of plant. The extra glucose is changed into another food called starch.
The foods like carbohydrates prepared by photosynthesis contains chemical energy.
Thus green plants, convert sunlight into chemical energy by making carbohydrates.(foods). The food prepared by photosynthesis provides all the energy to plant to which it needs to grow.
