Chemistry in 11th class is very different from what you have read in class 10th or before. you have a separate subject chemistry and you have to study in details. There are three parts: Physical, Organic and Inorganic.
You have to memorise many things in Organic and Inorganic and in physical, you have to do a lot of calculations.
