Communalism is defined as a social organization on the communal basis and it can be a great threat to the unity of any country because of the following reasons -
-It hampers the personal growth of an individual.
-Everyone has to follow the central authority.

With these factors coming into light, the individuals have to blindly follow the central authority. People show little or no concern about the others as it is not going to affect them and the we-feeling is lost which is a threat to the unity of a nation.

Ever heard of the saying "Unity In Diversity?"

Such harmonious societies tend to exist in secular conditions, whereby all are guaranteed equal rights irrespective of their religion and caste.

Communalism is a dangerous trend that is fast overtaking our nation today.

People who follow communalistic policies tend to favor their own ethnic group. This is fatal for a multicultural society such as ours, as the rights of minority groups tend to get ignored.
