The composition of lymph is different from that of the blood plasma because, the lymph is the tissue fluid that carries the excess flow of fluid from the tissues whereas the blood plasma is the serum of the blood along with its clotting factors.

The plasma contains mostly proteins and antibody which fights from the infections. The lymph is a yellow straw coloured fluid that contains less amount of protein and that which flows out through the intercellular spaces in the tissue.
