as copper is low in reactivity series ..its concentrated by roasting
CuS + O2 ----->CuO +SO2
THEN IT IS FURTHER REDUCED
CuO + C-----> CU+CO

the copper is extracted from its ore by roasting, it is process in sulphide ores are heated strongly in the presence of air.
