In the first step, the Copper Sulphide ore is heated under the presence of air to create Copper Oxide and Sulphur Dioxide.

2Cu2S+ 302-> 2Cu2O+2S02 


The temperature is then increased to more than 200 degree to accomplish the task. 


2Cu2O+ Cu2S->6Cu + S02
 

Later on, Cuprous Oxide reacts with Sulphide to enrich the ore.
