Answer:
Deltas are wetlands that form as rivers empty their water and sediment into another body of water, such as an ocean, lake, or another river. Although very uncommon, deltas can also empty into land. A river moves more slowly as it nears its mouth, or end.

Answer:
A delta is a triangular piece of land which is found at the mouth of a river. It is formed when a river deposits the sediments as it flow towards its mouth (a place where a river drain into a lake, sea or an ocean).
- When a river reaches a lake or the sea towards the end of its journey, the water slows down and loses the power to carry sediment. The sediment is thus deposited at tides. This results into the building up of layers forming a delta.
