Digestion in humans

Humans ingest their food through buccal cavity, then the food passes down through oesophagus and then collect into stomach and then the digestion complete in the small intestine.

Digestion in ruminants

Ruminants quickly swallow the grass and store it in one of the chamber . Later, they bring it back in the mouth and chew it leisurely. The food then goes to the second chamber . The cellulose of the food is digested here by the action of cellulose digesting bacteria. In the next two chamber , proteins are digested like as our stomach.

Hope this helps you

Answer:

Ruminants differ from non-ruminants (called monogastrics) because they have a four-chambered stomach. The four compartments are called the rumen, the reticulum, the omasum, and the abomasum. The rumen and the reticulum are connected and work in concert and are therefore sometimes called the “reticulorumen”.
