prokaryotic cells lack nucleus membrane, so the genetic material (DNA) is suspended freely containing nucleic acids.
This region in which nucleic acid is suspended is called nucleoid.
SO THE DNA IS SUSPENDED FREELY IN PROYAKTOTIC CELLS NOT INSIDE NUCLEUS.

Heya..!
Nuclear material i.e., DNA is naked and lies variously coiled in the cytoplasm.
It is often called genophore, nuclear body or nucleoid.
It is equivalent to a single naked chromosome and is, therefore, also called prochromosome.
Many prokaryotes also have additional small circular DNA entities called plasmids.
Plasmids carry additional specific factors like nitrogen fixation, resistance to antibiotics, fertility etc.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU.
