when many of the sperms reach the ovum we know that not every sperm will touch the ovum at the same time so when the first sperm which starts the ovum gets in and after entry of sperm completes outermost wall of the ovum he comes very hard..... so that no this from can get into the ovum..... but sometimes when one or more sperm at the wall of ovum at the same time we get two babies...... hope it will help you...... if yes then mark my answer as brain list

Answer :-

By the help of the "Zona pellucida" layer of the ovum.

Explanation :-

During the process of fertilisation, only one sperm is able to fertilise the ovum. This is possible due to the presence of the Zona pellucida layer of the ovum. when one sperm comes in contact with the zona pellucida layer, some changes are carried out in the membrane. These changes block the entry of more than one sperm.
