When CO2 present in atmosphere in excess amount then in plants, process of photorespiration takes place actually only in C3 type plants. By this process, they stop to preparing oxygen and making CO2 which further leads to excess of CO2. After a huge amount of CO2 present in atmosphere it causes Global Warming and Helps in Green House Effect too.

Explanation:
CO2 is a green house gas. About 75% of the solar energy reaching the earth is absorbed by the earth's surface. The rest of the heat radiates back to the atmosphere. But the heat radiated by the heated surface cannot pass freely into the space because excessive CO2 in the atmosphere absorb more heat. This results in increase in the average temprature of the atmosphere. This results in increase in the average temprature of the atmosphere. This is known as global warming.
