The face beauty is recorded by the complexion meter by the photoelectric effect.
Photoelectric effect: It is the emission of electrons called photo electrons, from metal surfaces, when lights radiations of appropriate frequency, fall on these surfaces. The current produced is called photoelectric current.
The photoelectric cells are used in complexion meters to compare white and dark face colors.
Procedure
Light reflected from the face, falls upon the photoelectric cells in the complexion meter and the current produced, is measured.
Inference
Whiter faces produces more photoelectric current than dark ones, which serves as a scale of face beauty.
