How is farming in the mountain different from farming in the plains?

Explanation:

Farmers who work land in the mountains have to use much smaller less efficient machinery, and may have to give up machinery altogether and do some or all of the necessary work by hand or with draft animals.

Soil erosion is a major problem on steep land. Irrigation, compared to irrigating level or near level land, is very time consuming and inefficient and sometimes simply impossible.

So mountain farmers generally can’t compete growing most crops.
