Before going straight to the answer I would like to attract your attention to one significant but more pertinent concept FEDERALISM.
WHAT IS FEDERALISM?
Federalism is a system of government in which the power is divided between a central authority and various constituent units of the country. Federation is derived from Latin word foedus which means agreement or treaty.
Federation is of two types,
1. Integration – The states or the parts of the country are combined together to form a complete single nation. E.g. USA
2. Disintegration – One single country is divided into states or provinces. E.g. Canada
Parts of the nations are called with different names in different countries,
States – India, USA
Provinces -- Canada
Cantons -- Switzerland
Republics -- Russia
