Pressure is directly proportional to force. I.e.,

 P \propto F .

That means, the more we exert force on an object, the more the pressure is generated. And similar, lesser amount of force implies lower pressure.

In case of area,

 P \propto \frac{1}{A} .

That means, pressure is inversely proportional to area. The more the area, the lesser the pressure is and vice - versa.

khusbubin4: but there is nothing about area
Anonymous: P ∝ 1/A

Explanation:

If the force decreases then the pressure decreases and vice versa .

And

If the area decreases then the pressure increases and vice versa.
