In Indian society, the work of women is only expected to be restricted till household. Even if women tend to work they do not get the same wages as their male counterparts get. However, political mobilization on gender discrimination has helped to improve the role of women in public life. Now more women are seen doing work other than the domestic one. This development can be attributed to the Feminist movements all over the world which promote equality amongst the gender.

Answer: Gender divisions in indian society is clearly visible from the day to day activities and chores performed by men and women. In Indian society a woman is still expected to do household work and live for the family. Even if she works more than a man, most of her work is not valued and hence not paid for.

Political mobilisation on gender basis has helped women to improve their conditions and also their role in public life. Feminist movt. for women's rights and issues raised about their conditions has helped them lead a much better life than before.
