During boiling the heat energy supplied is used in increasing the energy of water molecule and hence the change of phase takes place. On recieving sufficient amount of energy it get converted into the gaseous state.

Answer:
Hello Mate,
This is because the temperature is consumed as latent heat of vaporization. This amount of heat isused to break inter - molecular forces of attraction in liquid and convert it into a gaseous state. Hence thetemperature of liquid doesn't rise further when it is heated at its boilingpoint unless it converts into gas.
Hope this helps you
