The term "Human resources" is especially used to denote all the people working for a  company, firm or an organization. Sometimes Human resources are also referred to as human capital. These people are called resources because they are an asset to a business as they work interdependently to add value to it.

Examples include teachers, the workforce of an organisation, airline pilots, doctors, etc.

The 3 main factors that affect human resources are their:

1. Demographics, which deal with the age, gender, income etc. of the persons,
2. Diversity, indicating people belonging to different cultural ethinicities, who may work together as one, and,
3. Skills and qualifications: it is important that the Right person be put at the Right job. Otherwise, it will be a loss of time and money.

Human resource management is the group of people within a company that takes care of human resources. They make sure every employee is happy with what they are doing. They mainly deal with recruiting and selecting candidates for various vacant posts at the organisation.

Population, on the other hand, is a summation of all the organisms of the same group or species that live in a particular geographical area, and have the capability of interbreeding.

Human resources form a part of the population.
