The media is not completely independent. There are two reasons for this, first is the government control and the second is the control by the owners of media houses. While the government exercises its control over the independence of media through the use of censorship, the media owners, on the other hand, are motivated by profit.

Both print and visual media has to be approved by the government of the country. There is nota special rights to freedom of media but"right to freedom of speech" gives media its rights. Whenever the independence of the media is curbed or censorship is used, they will protest against them using freedom of speechand protest is a movement towards a dictatorship. Media is under the ownership of some media houses hence they wont report or tell anything bad about these business giants
