The independence of media can be curbed by using government censorship through which unwanted portions or scenes is removed. Both print and visual media has to be approved by the government of the country. There is not a special rights to freedom of media but "right to freedom of speech" gives media its rights. Whenever the independence of the media is curbed or censorship is used, they will protest against them using freedom of speech and protest is a movement towards a dictatorship. Media is under the ownership of some media houses hence they wont report or tell anything bad about these business giants.

Two reasons can be attributed to this- one is the control that the government has on the media and second is the influence of the people who own the media.
