India is dependent on fossil fuels because unlike other countries like China, Japan etc. India doesn't have other sources of energy for exchange the use of fossil fuels so India is dependent on fossil fuels. For example introducing electric vehicles save fossil fuels but it Indians have not adopted electric vehicles.
