Indian President is the first head of the state. He is recognised as the first citizen of India and is regarded as a symbol of solidarity, unity and integrity of the nation. He also belongs to the part of Union Executive along with Vice-President, Prime Minister, Council of Ministers and Attorney-General of India.

The President of the Republic of India is regarded as the head of the state of India and the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces. The Constitution of India came into force on January 26, 1950, and Dr Rajendra Prasad was elected as the first constitutional head of the state, the President of India.

Since the year constitution came into existence 14 full-time PResidents have been appointed for the country.

Now current President of India is Ram Nath Kovind.

Qualifications to be the Indian President

Age limit is a minimum of 35 years

He should qualify the conditions to be elected as a member of the Lok Sabha

He should not hold any office of profit under the central government, state government, or any public authority
