As per price, i5 10400f currently holds a good leap for performance in gaming as well as processing, costing only 14K. For a computer with it, you will need 20K total for the motherboard(H410), 5.5K with a dedicated corsair cooler(500–600).
In this aspect, an i5 is better than Ryzen 5.
Else, nope.
A cheaper Ryzen 5 2600 has 6 core 12 thread,(same as the 10400f), that is better at multithreading, heavy processing as well as price. Costs only 11K.
An AMD ryzen 5 3500X costs 16K, but still is a good alternative to the 9400f, but 3.5K costlier.
Ryzen 5s are now bit more costlier in the price tags, 3600 costs 20K, 3600X and 3600XT with better base speed are over 22K. 5600X costs 25K or more. But they have a great deal of performance, specifically 5600X.
As much as i respect them, 25K added with 6K will give me a new 3700 which is a beast in itself. 8 cores with 16 threads is more cost effective here.
