Answer: Internet is a form of Large Area Network (LAN). Internet is a network which can connect the whole world, people from all over the world can get it touch and communicate with each other.

On the other hand, a small network like one in a computer lab will not let us communicate people outside the the computer lab. Through this network we will only be able to communicate with computers inside the computer lab.
