Because when the iron and gold are founded in mines it goes to factory for making of glass, plates etc
it needed to put the irons in shapes but it's not possible so they melt the iron on temperature 1000°
so there is lot of coal to fire and melt the pollution that is created That is the pollution.....
it produces lots of pollution...
