Firstly, we have to understand what is 'watts'.

It is S.I. unit of power i.e. work done per unit time.

This power when makes up 1000 watts,

then it is called a kilowatt.

( same as 1000 grams make 1kilogrammes)

We know that,

power =  \frac{work done(energy)}{time}

p =  \frac{w}{t}

energy = power \times time

Since we know power and time we can can calculate 'Energy'

Now,

This energy is in comes out in watts second.

Or we can convert it in Kilowatt hours...

Hence, everything should be clear now!

1kilowatt \: hour = 3.6 \times  {10}^{6} watt \: seconds
