The process of turning or loosening the soil generally by plough is called ploughing. * THEPROCESS OF TURNING OR LOOSENING THE SOIL IS CALLED PLOUGHING. * THE PROCESS OF BRAKING THE CRUMBS ( LARGE PARTICLES OF SOIL) INTO THE SIZE OF GRAINS USING A LEVELLER OR A WOODEN PLANK IS CALLED LEVELLING.

Ploughing is different from levelling because ploughing is done by equipment – Wood or Iron phlough pulled by oxen or tractor.

The advantages of ploughing are -------»

• It enhances the water retaining capacity of the soil.

• It uproot the weeds growing in the field.
